Review and rating policy
A number next to someone's professional name is a claim about their work. We only make it when we can say where it came from.
No rating without a source
Lexfora displays a rating only when all three of the following are recorded: the source it came from, a link to that source, and the date we retrieved it. If any one is missing, no rating is shown — not a zero, not a dash, nothing. This is enforced in the database, not just the interface.
When a rating is shown, it is labelled with its origin, for example “4.9 based on 31 Google reviews”, and links to where you can read those reviews yourself.
We do not blend sources
We do not average ratings from different platforms into a single Lexfora score. A blended number hides its own methodology and cannot be checked by the person it describes.
Reviews left on Lexfora
Reviews submitted directly to Lexfora are moderated before publication and are attributed to the reviewer. Attorneys can respond publicly to any review of them, whether or not they have claimed their profile.
Disputes
If you are an attorney and believe a rating or review attached to your listing is inaccurate, misattributed, or not about you, tell us and we will remove it while we look into it — not after.
The limits
Lexfora does not recommend, endorse, rank by quality, or vouch for any attorney. We check specific facts and say which ones we checked. Everything else is your judgement to make.
Lexfora takes no referral fee and accepts no payment for placement. No attorney can pay to appear higher in results or to be suggested to you.
